The German foundry Hermann Reckers Gmbh & Co. KG, specialized in the production of cast iron components for hydraulic constructions, pumps and valves, has chosen to rely on Magaldi Power SpA for the replacement of rubber belts used for transporting motte. The latter were transported from the punch-out area to the shake-out by means of two rubber conveyor belts, one in operation and the other at 100% in stand-by. From the beginning, the replacement belt was necessary to ensure production in the event of breakdowns or maintenance work on the conveyor in operation. In fact, the high temperatures caused frequent damage to the rubber belts, resulting in high maintenance costs. To reduce these costs, the German foundry chose to replace existing conveyors with a Superbelt conveyor, whose damage-resistant design offers increased reliability and a longer service life. 800 mm wide and 20 m long, the Superbelt steel belt conveyor will be equipped with upper covers and three extraction hoods connected to a dedusting system to avoid the dispersion of dust into the environment. Machine installation is scheduled for July 2021.
